This pages show the variety of projects supported to date by the Supra Solem Observatory.

Unifying and coordinating professional and amateur astronomers around the world to perform time-sensitive observations of astronomical transients. REFITT is the world's first AI engine with the ability to design optimal observation recommendations in real time using a weighted analysis of the varying capabilities, costs, and benefits of the diverse pool of telescopes and instruments at its disposal. This project represents an enormous leap forward in addressing the need for autonomous, evidence-based, instantaneous decision-making as time domain astronomy enters the era of Big Data.

Supra Solem vs. Pan-STARRS

Smaller aperture, higher resolution imaging by volunteer astronomers drives the REFITT project. This gif captures a comparison of the Supra Solem 0.3 meter telescope versus the 1.8m Pan-STARRS telescope.

Exoplanet Transits - Time Series
Qatar-6 b transit captured on 2022-04-10 with 190 images over four hours and processed in AstroImageJ software to produce the light curve.

Eclipsing Binary Transits - Time Series
LX Leo transit captured in Cousins-R filter on 2022-03-20 with 340 images over seven hours. Data analysis completed with AAVSO's VPHOT software and Peranso Light Curve and Period Analysis software.

Follow-up Observations
SDSS J1430-2303 is believed to be the site of a near-term black hole merger in progress. This is a 600 second exposure in Johnson-V filter with photometric analysis performed in AAVSO's VPHOT software.

Transient Imaging
Gaia Alerts transient imaging. Gaia22amp image is a 300 sec image in Sloan-R filter showing a supernova in progress.
